While the sport import genre has slowed a bit in the last decade, Kia and Hyundai have breathed new life into the custom culture in their own way.

At the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Kia will have a large showcase of vehicles in a theme called “A Day at the Races” while Hyundai builds on its street racing image.

One of two Kia vehicles shown this far include a Kia Soul EV ice cream wagon called Smitten.

On the other end of the spectrum is a wildly modified Kia K900 sedan with a number of significant performance enhancements and visual upgrades.

Hyundai will also be on deck with several show cars taking on a high-performance bent with their new 2015 Genesis rear wheel drive sedan. Ask Performance and Toca Marketing both put their touches on a couple concepts here.

The Genesis Coupe also a party favorite at SEMA will be there with a hot concept from Blood Type Racing celebrating the underground racing culture with ultimate street performance mods.

We will be reporting SEMA wall to wall this year all next week with detailed reports on all these cars so be sure to come back and see us!
