Toyota has pulled the cover off an all-new 2014 Corolla sedan. A completely new car, the new Corolla has Toyota’s latest origami styling theme, new interior with available tech features, a new engine, and now a CVT transmission which is expected to help it achieve over 40 mpg.

The all-new 11th generation Corolla is larger too. It has a 3.93” longer wheelbase and 3.90“ longer overall length. Despite the stretch the overall silhouette remains chunky and compact to the eyes. And speaking of eyes, the new Corolla comes with standard LED headlamps – a first in the segment.

Inside, the cabin gets Toyota’s newest design themes as well, with a wide sweeping dash that looks as much classic American car as Asian in theme. Soft touch trim with stitching is available to make it feel more upscale too.

hat extra space afforded by the wheelbase stretch also makes the interior larger and more roomy. Legroom is up huge as a result. Toyota also boasts vastly improved quietness with a slew of new sound deadening treatments, aiming to be the most hushed car it its class.

The instrument cluster now includes a multi-information display that shows odometer, trip odometer, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, cruising distance and average vehicle speed. The S-model gets a slick 3.5” TFT display between two large dials.

The 2014 Corolla will come with two versions of a 1.8-liter, all-aluminum four-cylinder engine. The base 132 horsepower engine comes in the Corolla L, LE, and S. The new LE Eco comes with a 1.8-Valvematic engine which gets increased fuel efficiency and 140 horsepower.
