Bentley has been sharpening their sword yet again, this month announcing what they call the world’s fastest four-seat car, the new Continental Supersports.

It has 700 horsepower, 750 pound-feet of torque. It will rip from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 209 mph. That makes it according to Bentley the world’s fastest and most powerful luxury four-seat car.

Coming also soon will be a drop top version that backs it up as the world’s fastest four-seat convertible.

All of this comes from a heavily massaged version of the company’s terminally unique 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine. This one gets larger turbochargers and a new intercooling tract that brings on more boost at cooler temperatures.

The changes add almost 80 horsepower to the engine which as said now cranks out 700 horsepower. This is combined with a new torque converter in its 8-speed automatic transmission that locks up earlier in the rev range for better power delivery.

New 16.5-inch carbon ceramic brakes are the largest of their type in the world Bentley tells us, all help stop the 5,000 pound brick from its terminal velocity of 209 mph. Yeah you heard that right, 5,027 pounds to be exact.

The all-wheel-drive and brake system is managed with an updated program for torque vectoring that brakes individual front and rear wheels accelerating out of corners and does the same at turn in for a more agile feel.

Cabin trims start with a new tri-tone color scheme with diamond-quilted leather in the seating and door panels. The dash sports a race checkered carbon-fiber trim element or any of ten different veneers you can choose.

Unique stitching surrounds the passengers with a number of special touches and trims including a Alcantara accents all around. An then there are the neck warmers. Nice.

Exterior upgrades include new front and rear fascias lined with carbon-fiber splitter and diffuser details. Carbon-fiber also runs the side sills, vent trims and the handsome rear deck spoiler. Darkened headlamps and tail-lamps also tell you what you’re looking at.

There are several options for both visual upgrades and sound. A titanium exhaust system can be had for instances that forgets the Bentley upstanding citizen tone and gives your posh neighbor hood a rap-crackling roar they will remember.

You can configure yours now on the Bentley website. Pricing? It’s not dangled out there to see but figure six and starting with a two.
