Order banks for the 2024 Ford Maverick compact pickups open on July 17th and like last year the model year is expected to sell out entirely within days. If you are looking to order a new 2024 or you’re a 2023 Maverick order holder that’s still unscheduled for production this is a very important day to have your ducks in a row for.
First, while the 2024 Ford Maverick is largely a carry over model in terms of design and specs there are some key changes to know about before you place a new order.
Starting with pricing, the biggest wholesale change is that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine is now the standard powertrain with FWD. AWD will be optional on XL and XLT, standard on Lariat. The 2.5-liter hybrid engine with FWD only is now the optional upgrade and will now cost an extra $1,500 across all trim grades.
And to that base price on the Maverick XL goes up $805 to $23,400. If you get and XL Hybrid, it now starts at $24,900. The mid-range XLT will now start at $26,315, and increase of $1,460 with the XLT Hybrid now costing $27,815.
The Maverick Lariat gets the largest price increase yet adding $4,280 to make its base price now $32,635 with the Hybrid costing in at $34,135. The major price boost here is largely because many of its previously optional packages are now made standard equipment.
These include the previously optional Lariat Luxury Package and the full boat of Co-Pilot360 driver assistance packages. Additionally, a spray-in bed-liner and wireless phone charger are now included. Another change on Lariat is that mirror caps are now painted black instead of body color.
The Maverick Tremor will now include standard parts of the optional Off-Road Plus Appearance Package from 2023 namely the hood and door graphics which you can choose to delete. The appearance package itself is gone for 2024 as is the two-tone paint scheme that was a part of it.
When it comes to paint colors, 2024 will see the removal of colors Area 51, Alto Blue, and Cyber Orange. Also gone is Avalanche Gray which was only available on the Tremor. New colors will include Azure Gray and Terrain though detail was not given on whether either will be limited to certain trim grades just yet.
Atlas Blue, Shadow Black, Oxford White, Hot Pepper Red, and Cactus Gray will continue to be available for 2024. Iconic Silver and Carbonized Gray will also continue for 2024 but for base XL models will be for fleet customers only.
There will be other changes and package availability news coming later in July when the 2024 Order Guides are released around the 10th. At that time more detail should be available as to what standard features and packages will be on the order blanks. What we have today are just highlights.
If you are planning to order a new 2024 model, NOW is the time to get with a trusted dealership and start the conversation. Order blanks open on July 17th, but do not wait until then. Orders are likely to sell out in a matter of days. While dealership allocations are said to be improved for this year, some dealerships may sell out of their individual allocations even within a day or two. So again, don’t wait or you will miss out.
For those who ordered a 2023 model and are still waiting for a build date to be scheduled, you should have received an email from Ford Motor Company this week that has detailed instructions as to how to proceed. I have have one of these trucks on order that is still unscheduled and I got the email.
Essentially they are telling unscheduled 2023 order holders to contact their dealer and place a new order for a 2024 model to insure that you get a truck. This way if your 2023 Maverick does not make it to production which many will not, your new 2024 order will get prioritization and you will be offered a price protection incentive.
Scheduling for remaining 2023 Ford Mavericks will continue until August 3rd for remaining production months this summer and fall. If yours is not scheduled for production by August 3rd, your order will be canceled and your new 2024 order will take its place. But you need to take the action before July 17th to get the new order in place, it is NOT automatic. Again, do not wait until July 17th to contact your dealership. Do it NOW.
Production for the 2024 Ford Maverick begins in October and will run for 13 months. As stated at the outset, no major changes are coming for the 2024 model year but we will have another video soon with more detail about all of the changes for 2024.
