This week were with Ford at their headquarters in Dearborn, MI for the reveal of the new 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, the first application of the company’s rip snorting EcoBoost twin turbo V6 in a short bed performance truck.

This has seemed like a natural order combination from the star, but it has been unavailable up until now.

Ford points out this is no SVT Lightning, but the short-wheelbase standard-cab Tremor does come with 20” flat-black wheels, an FX Appearance Package, a 4.10 rear axle and of course that 365 horsepower twin turbo V6.

To make it special, the interior gets a flow-through center console and black leather bucket seats with red piping and Alcantara inserts. The dash and door panel trim inside is brushed-metal, the leather steering wheel gets contrast red-stitching.

With 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft of torque, the EcoBoost V6 should be able to launch the Tremor in a dramatic way. Giving cred to its performance image, it comes standard with an electronic locking rear differential and 4:10 years.

Best of all you can order the Tremor in both two and all-wheel-drive which ought really give awesome traction.

At the reveal Ford said that while the Lightning has been asked for many times over, that this vehicle is not and SVT product. Rather they wanted to offer the existing powertrain in a size package most enthusiasts have felt to be a no brainer. This of course is top end power in the smallest truck possible.

Though pricing has not been announced, the Tremor is expected to be around $38-40,000 for the two-wheel drive and just over $40,000 for the all-wheel drive model. The new 2014 F-150 Tremor will go on sale later this year.
