The people at Ram Truck aren’t taking all the aluminum Ford F-150’s and Cummins powered Nissans sitting still. They’re fighting back with the expansion of their RAM pickup line. First was the Rebel off-road model, now the 2015 Ram Laramie Limited.

The new top-end model gets premium trims inside and out with a more laid back look, creating what Ram calls a “black-tie” luxury alternative to their popular cowboy western store themed Laramie Longhorn trim line.

The Laramie Limited’s look starts with an all-new chrome grill design that like the Rebel off-road model, loses the traditional cross-hair design for one with two symmetrical ports on either side. The design has sculpted billet forms and bold RAM letters across.

A new quad headlight design includes projector halogen lamps and LED accent lighting with lots of expensive looking detail. Standard is a body-color rear bumper and front fascia, but optional is chrome as shown here.

That theme carries to the tail gate which also has prominent chrome RAM lettering stretching 20” across, highlighted with chrome trim strips and book-ended by eye catching LED tail lamps.

Chrome lines the sides as well with thick side molding strips and running boards with integral rubber grips. They frame unique 20-inch polished and painted wheels. There are separate designs for both the Ram 1500 and Ram 2500 models and up.

Inside is where the driver and passengers get the same level of top-end trims as you’d expect in a Laramie Longhorn, but without all the saddle shop filigree rodeo pomp and circumstance. No, this is a classier more formal look, with all-black trim.

Here there are fine stitched accents, subtle pin striping, and a touch of sophistication in trims and materials. Seats are covered in premium black leather with gray piping and genuine wood trims line the dash and door panels.

A new center console design gets a stitched leather arm rest lid with the obligatory Limited badge, but it isn’t the championship belt-buckle trophy found in the Longhorn. There still remain a few belt-buckle details such as those on the map pocket flaps but they have a more formal buzz here that says Doc Martens instead of Tony Lama.

The steering wheel is wrapped in leather with a combination of high-gloss black trim that has silver pin-striping in it. Stitched leather also wraps the A and B-pillar grab handles too.

A special instrument cluster gets liquid graphite-faced gauges with diamond knurled chrome trim rings, a design Ram says is inspired by upscale watches. They sit nicely in the dash which is lined with stitched soft trims.

The new 2015 Laramie Limited trim grade can be had with Crew Cab Ram 1500, 2500 and all forms of Ram 3500 models in Crew Cab and Mega Cab. Full drive and engine selections can be had as well on the Laramie Limited which arrives this summer.
