One of the hottest new crossover SUV’s in the news this spring has been the 2016 Honda Pilot, which is all-new and soon arriving at dealerships.

The first of a new generation of crossover models from Honda, the new Pilot began rolling off the lines at Lincoln, Alabama in May.

Designed, developed and manufactured in North America, the all-new 2016 Honda Pilot gets new styling and more space inside, a more powerful and efficient powertrain, and the latest tech features buyers are wanting.

Among them will be a suite of driver assistance and safety features like Lane Watch, forward collision warning and mitigation, radar cruise control, and blind spot warnings.

It gets LED projector-beam headlamps and running lights as well as standard LED taillights. A first for Honda, the 2016 Pilot will also be available with wheel sizes up to 20-inches.

It looks larger too because it is, gaining 3.5-inches in length overall yet Honda says it’s up to 300 lbs. lighter than the outgoing model.

Under the hood is the latest generation 3.5-liter, direct-injected V6 which can now be had with either a 6-speed or a new 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Pilot of course will be available in both front and all-wheel drive.

At Honda’s Alabama plant, the Pilot is built alongside the Odyssey minivan and will be joined by the all-new 2017 Ridgeline pickup next year.
