With the 2017 Ford F-Series pickups landing at dealership lots any day, they announced the return of the popular STX trim grade for both the F-150 and now the Super Duty series pickups.
Well known by long time Ford customers, the STX trim falls between the base work truck XL and the more expensive XLT line of Ford trucks, offering a value-oriented package of appearance and convenience features previously not available on entry-level models.
Returning on the 2017 F-150 in Super and Crew Cab models, the STX gets most notably the large 20-inch aluminum wheels with unique machined finish and painted inners.
A black billet-style front grille with mesh backing and body color bumpers add some of the themes from upper trim grades. The lower bumper gets fog lamps and an STX graphic finishes out the exterior adds.
Inside it gets unique sport seats are upgraded from the base grade in look and feel with black cloth along with a full center console. It still has a column shifter but infotainment is upgraded to the 8-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 system now with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Those sport seats by the way feature adjustable lumbar support for both the driver and passenger, who will also enjoy standard privacy glass around the back half of the cab.
Both cab configurations of the 2017 F-150 STX will be available with the 325 horsepower 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost, 385 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 and the 375 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with the new 10-speed automatic transmission. Pricing starts at $35,615.
For the first time, the Super Duty will be available in the STX trim grade as well but its feature list is slightly different than the F-150. Available with all cabs and both the 6.2 liter V8 or Power Stroke diesel, pricing starts at $34,910 for STX F-250 and $36,080 for the F-350.
All 2017 Ford F-Series pickup trucks are now available to order at local dealers as of today as production of both the F-150 and the new Super Duty is now under way. The trucks themselves should be showing up any day now.
