Making its debut at the New York Auto Show is the latest factory-custom packaged special edition RAM 1500 pickup, the wildly colored Sublime Sport.

Yes it’s about the color. The 2017 Ram 1500 Sublime Sport comes in a unique but familiar shade accentuated with a monochromatic body color trim treatment to really give it some punch. These include a body color front grille and bumper with fog lights, mirror caps and body color rear bumper.

The native Sport trim grade touches include the performance hood with stripe graphics in black that tie together all of the black trims and accents all around. These include blacked out halogen projector headlamps, emblems and badges front to rear in black, notably the large RAM logo on the traditional cross-hair grille and the tailgate.

Wheels too are finished in black, big huge 22-inch alloys standard on two-wheel drive models and for the first time, 20-inch wheels when you option four-wheel drive.

The interior also gets its own list of custom touches too. The black trimmed cabin is down to business but gets lime green accent stitching on all the soft trims including the high-back heated cloth sport seats with embroidered logos too in addition to sport mesh inserts.

The trim rings around the vents and instruments here instead of being crazy with lime green are done tastefully in an anodized black finish. The Sublime Sport comes standard with a full center console and heated steering wheel as well.

You can step up inside with the optional Alpine nine-speaker audio system with subwoofer or the convenience package which includes keyless go, automatic high-beams and rain sensitive windshield wipers.

The Sublime Sport package is available only on Ram 1500 Crew Cab V-8 models which means you get the 5.7 liter HEMI engine with its 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque by way of variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation system.

An eight-speed automatic transmission and as said it can be had in either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Arriving at dealerships in May and buildable on the RAM website now, the 2017 Sublime Sport starts at $45,740 plus a destination fee of $1,395.

Obviously you can spend a good deal more with option packages and accessories like the black running boards found on the truck you see here. Also optional are a power sunroof, spray-in bedliner and a ton of other things.

It will be limited to just 3,000 units and will join a number of special edition trucks Ram is rolling out this year.
