Arriving soon at North American dealerships is the significantly refreshed 2025 Toyota Camry which sports a slightly lower price tag, sharper new design language, more standard technologies, and now a 100% hybrid powertrain lineup.
Unlike other brands who gave up on the sedan all together Toyota has doubled down with a substantial redesign of the 2025 model inside and out. The look features the brand’s latest “Hammerhead” design theme at the front that’s decidedly more aggressive. Standard are a variety LED headlights across the board depending on the trim grade.
Starting at a base MSRP of $28,400, the 2025 Toyota Camry will be offered in familiar trim grade LE, SE, XLE and XSE. Each variation gets its own look and feel, equipment levels and character that really sets each apart more than ever.
Wheel sizes start with 16-inch standard alloys on LE up to 19-inch alloys on XSE we see here which as expected gets you a very aggressive set of body style treatments and a performance suspension along with available two-tone paint treatments. In this top trim with AWD base MSRP is $36,125.
From behind the wheel you will find the latest design ethos from Toyota including what they are calling an “open concept” cockpit design. Richer material palettes that vary widely from LE to XSE trim grades each have their own personality, available colors, and seat trim materials. The latter ranges from cloth on LE all the way up to leather on top trims.
Redesigned seats are said to be more comfortable and supportive too with a new shape and foam density as well as a longer lower cushion length and enhanced headrest makeup.
Technology is upgraded across the board as well with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster on LE and SE models – a standard 12.3-in digital cluster on XLE and XSE. Infotainment screens include a standard 8-inch touchscreen on LE and SE with a fully featured 12.3-inch screen on XLE and XSE.
All Camry trims now come standard with a Qi wireless charging pad, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a healthy collection of USB ports – three up front and two out back. The top line infotainment system includes JBL Audio and a host of connected feature content options.
While revised styling inside and out is really evolutionary, what powers the Toyota Camry for 2025 is really where the big shifts are. Gone are both the old conventional 2.5-liter four cylinder and the 3.5-liter V6. Now standard across the board is the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System comprised of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and two-motor drive unit regardless of which trim grade you choose.
In FWD models you get 225 combined horsepower and now available for the first time on Camry is an AWD electronic on-demand system that adds an additional electric motor unit at the rear axle. In total the AWD model offers a combined horsepower rating of 232.
Fuel economy will be the big payoff here with as much as 53 mpg city, 50 mpg highway and 51 mpg combined on the base grade LE in FWD. Obviously adding AWD, wider tires and wheels and the extra weight of higher-end trims brings that down a little but to 44 city, 43 highway and 44 mpg combined.
The 2025 Toyota Camry is designed and built here in the U.S. and rolls out to dealerships shortly in late spring of 2024.
