In Miami, Nissan has unveiled the redesigned 2017 Nissan Rogue, their most popular crossover model. It gets new design inside and out and will offer a hybrid version.

The Nissan Rogue is the brand’s number one selling model and continues to vy for the top spot in the compact crossover class against the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Ford Escape and others. And only three years since the introduction of the current model, they’ve updated the design inside and out, added more trim and now a hybrid option.

You can see the updated front-end styling is more chiseled and sharp than the 2016 Nissan Rogue. It gets an all-new front fascia with larger openings top and bottom to go along with a more aggressive V-Motion grill design.

New headlamps look more upscale with more design flair behind their lenses, and the grill ornament on the top-line SL you see here features a transparent panel behind the Nissan emblem. The lower fascia gets newly designed fog lights as well.

At the rear are new boomerang design LED tail lights to go along with a new lower bumper fascia. A new feature offered back here for 2017 is a motion activated power lift-gate. A swipe of your foot under the bumper or using the key fob or stationary buttons will open it hands free.

The interior gets a host of upgrades and improvements too. A new steering wheel, a redesigned center console with a sport mode shifter as well as revised fabrics and finishes come across the entire lineup. A heated steering wheel is now available and heated seats are now standard on the SV.

What you’re looking at here is a new Platinum Reserve interior trim grade that will top out the line with rich interior colors of leather with lots of accent stitching across the seating, doors and console surfaces.

The bump in luxury brings with it creature comforts like seat and mirror memory, a new intelligent cruise control system, lane departure warning and prevention, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection and more.

While the styling and features all get a healthy update the big news is the available hybrid model for 2017 that will compete head to head with the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It promises up to 35 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined using a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine paired with a single 30kW electric motor, a two-clutch hybrid CVT and a lithium-ion battery – all with 176 system horsepower.

Non-hybrid 2017 Rogues will continue with a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. Both the new hybrid and traditional gas engine 2017 Nissan Rogue will be available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

We will be test driving the 2017 Nissan Rogue and Rogue Hybrid in a few weeks and will bring you a complete and detailed test drive review, very soon.
