Before you begin, be sure your car is parked safely and is turned off. Always be mindful of hot components like radiator hoses, caps and other components nearby.
The air filter for the 1.5-liter 2022 Honda Civic is very easy to replace, likely the easiest of any car. No tools are required and it can take less than five minutes.
To remove the old filter you can locate the main air filter box at the driver side front of the engine bay just behind the radiator. To open, simply pop the two clips at the passenger side of the box with your hands, one at the front, one at the rear.
The box is held in place at the drive side by two slip tabs, so to remove simply work it loose by pulling it to the passenger side then lift it free. Once it’s loose you can remove the filter element.
To replace the filter just reverse the order of removal taking care to make sure you have seated the two abs on the drive side properly so that once latched it seals tightly.
